Sounds like a good idea, but people might balk at adding yet another app to their phone - especially one that isn't a game or a utility app.

Jack,

The Enterprise App Store is not meant for mobile phones but it's meant to be installed on PC's within an organization so that IT can consolidate/manage all the software that is needed/required within an organization and convert them to apps.

For example - Your company has a Web Development Team, This team will need software ranging from Adobe Creative Suite, Development IDE's (Visual Studio, Aptana Studio, 3rd Rails...etc), SQL Server Management Studio, UX prototyping software and so on and then the question of licensing arises, how many you need, how will you manage them, Can i re-direct licenses when an employee leaves or joins, what if someone just needs it for a week? then you end up spending money on software that is installed and unused, What if you need software that is not available immediately to get the job done? You have to ask IT for it, IT needs approval and permission to purchase, then order it and then install it on your machine. These problems and all the installation headaches are solved by an enterprise app store, You have a browser installed on your PC that lets to search,
find and install an app in the same exact fashion as you would on your smartphone.

The solution to this problem is AppWaveâ„¢ - Enterprise App Store by Embarcadero Technologies and you can also read an interesting article on "The App Store Model Comes To The Enterprise" here: http://bit.ly/pNLdIW
