What do you think of the Facebook competitor unthink.com?
They are trying to counter with a privacy message and getting their users to explicitly select a brand to "sponsor" their profiles. Has anyone tried their service? Are they on to something?

It'll pick up some subscribers angry at Facebook but after the novelty has worn off I think it will need something a bit more unique than that to sustain itself.
Unthink faces the same hurdle that other social networks face when taking on Facebook - the "migration costs". I've written about this several times over the last couple of years, and define it as the "emotional" costs associated with changing to a new social platform. For most tech savvy users it's pretty easy to move from Facebook to Google+ or Diaspora or Unthink. These people know how to stay connected to their friends and associates who may live in different social platforms. But for the vast majority of social networkers it becomes a stumbling block when trying to figure out how they will keep up with their close-knit community of friends, family and classmates. Thus, the notion of migration costs, which are too high for most people. I've seen quite a few comments from people on FB who are frustrated with their security policies and practices - claiming that they are leaving FB and moving to Google+ (or some other platform). Oddly enough, they never make the move...
Unthink will suffer from the migration cost barrier to entry. It will enjoy its moment in the spotlight and will build a dedicated community, but will have little impact on the Facebook machine.
