Apparently the announcement is a new dashboard for users that will allow Facebook members to see how many sites and applications they’ve allowed to access their personal data through the network and Facebook Connect.
Also: a groups feature that lets you post updates to specific groups of friends instead of your entire network, as well as a feature that lets you download all your Facebook content to your computer.
I thought it was about the cofounder supporting legalizing marijuana in los angeles - it's on one of the LA internet pages I read
