What do you think of Fon and why hasn't it come to the US yet?
Fon is a european company that makes WiFi routers with two connections. The concept of the two connections is that one is for your personal use and the other is a "public" one that can be used by anyone on the Fon network. This is a great example of a quasi collaboration tech. Plus this will offset the load for mobile networks. What do you think of Fon's service? Is there a reason why it's not in the U.S. yet?

Glad you found interest in FON.
My name is Alexander Puregger, and I am COO/Director of FON.
FON is the world's largest WiFi community. Over 3 Million people already share their home WiFi with other community members. the community grows fast.
It's true, that we want to grow our community more in the US. But we are actually already today available in the USA. People can join the FON community, by simply purchasing a Fonera WiFi router at www.fon.com.
The router is a great 802.11n WiFi router, that gives two WiFi signals. One for your home use, and one for guest use.
No worries. Sharing is safe (we separate traffic with firewall so nobody can get into your network) and we make sure, that guest use never depletes your bandwidth (you can set how much you want to share maximum)
Hope this helps.
