1 Answer
The fair trade movement is aimed to help developing countries develop better working and living conditions by providing them with a 'fair' price for their products. These are generally agricultural products and handcrafted items. It advocates higher wages for workers that generally work in sweat shop conditions as well as environmentally sustainable practices. There are many criticisms of the movements effectiveness though, and it is often very hard to regulate properly.
