On Focus, Experts answer questions, publish research, and speak at events. While Experts come from different backgrounds, ranging from day-to-day practitioners to recognized thought leaders, all Focus Experts should demonstrate the following characteristics:

1. Experts need deep subject matter expertise in a specific topic or market. Each Expert must be able to provide meaningful insights into specific issues and decisions that members of the Focus community need help with.

2. Experts must display a willingness to help other professionals by sharing their knowledge and insights. This sharing occurs primarily online, but can also take place in offline formats.

3. They must be able to communicate with other members of the community in a professional manner. This includes written, verbal, and visual forms of communication.

4. As a final check, Experts need strong social networks in the relevant topic or market. This is a good proxy for understanding whether someone meets the aforementioned requirements for becoming a Focus Expert.

Do the 'E's next to certain users' names indicate they're a Focus Expert? What's the 'A'?

The A means Focus Adviser, rather than a Focus Expert
