I would recommend flipping the question to ask what would my customers want from an iPhone app? There isn't one single feature or tool that is valuable in all iPhone applications. Rather I would encourage you to think of what functionality you can provide customers in an app that they don't currently have in the browser or in-person. It may be in-app purchases or geo-location but for a majority of businesses, those features would be useless.
