Loved the "Mayhem" commercials that Benjamin mentioned, but I felt that the Old Spice campaign simply crushed all comers in the 2010 battle-of-the-ad-spots.

By combining traditional advertising with some unique online social media elements, I thought that it set a new standard.

Hi Cindy, what a great question...

In best ads;
1. High quality image ads on CraigsList and BackPage are impressive.
2. Nice YouTube Videos.
3. Video E-mails (I receive 1-2 a week on average).
4. Favorite TV Commercials (Mayhem by Allstate).
5. Favorite Radio Commercial (skits that resemble ads in 40's- 60's).

I promote myself through video a lot and here are my three videos;

YouTube Video 1 for EBP Business Presentations:

YouTube Video 2 for EBP YouTube Video Design:

YouTube Video 3 for EBP Lobbying Firm Representation:

I am interested to see what others say!

I don't know if you'll get this where you are, but in South Africa we have a dog called Buddy in the Toyota adverts. It was a stroke of sheer genius and he is well loved and constantly quoted in all circles. Brilliant advertising. I just love them.

Nothing else has even vaguely stood out on any level. Check out the ads on :

It was innovative because they combined upper crust mentality with pure down to earth coolness. They found something that everyone can relate to and they made us laugh at ourselves. Genius.

I am not sure how one measures innovation in commercials. I find the best commercials this year are the allstate "mayhem" commercials.

http://www.allstate.com/Mayhem-is-everywhere/main.aspx

The company transformed "mayhem" into a person who explains to the viewer exactly what happens prior to, during, and after the accident (mayhem).

Great idea!

I agree with Brian that the Old Spice ads were exceptional but would rate Intel as worthy of note (http://www.youtube.com/user/channelintel?blend=1&ob=4) and my 'winner' for 2010 would be the Tipp-Ex ad Hunter Shoots a Bear (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ba1BqJ4S2M).
