Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) is part of a new encryption standard for wireless LANs, called IEEE 802.11i. TKIP includes key mixing for each packet, checks message integrity, and includes a re-keying service, making it an improvement over the Wired Equivalency Protocol.
