The WiMedia Alliance formed in 2005 when it merged with the MultiBand OFDM Alliance Special Interest Group. It is an organization that promotes ultra-wideband (UAB) specifications and standards adoption as well as interoperability. The Alliance also helps to develop and maintain UAB specifications.
