You have to consider who it is that will be doing the calculating. I don't think there's necessarily a big justification in carbon accounting tools for a preliminary audit. If you have EXCEL wizards involved, you may be able to use the EPA's calculator at no cost. You must also consider your industry - for example, tools for a University setting are different from an Enterprise. Small business needs may differ from large - you need to find an affordable tool usable by the folks doing the survey. Plenty exist so do not labor needlessly with anything you don't feel is straightforward and easy to use.
