What is the law against providing terminated employee w/summary of hours?
Should we provide the hours? Is there specifics about what we have to and not have to provide

Hello Lilliana,
I might be able to answer this, but I would like to know why you wouldn't.
In case I get face to face with this type of situation. This way if I do provide the hours and my employer questions the action I would have reasonable back up to why I did it. As far as I know if an employee or former employee requests a copy of their personal hours we are required to furnish it. I am just curious if anything changes when it is for a former employee?
Well I think it is up to the company. Most companies will have a policy that outlines that they will or will not release employee personnel files with or without an employee or former employee signing a release form. I know from personal experience as a HR Manager and Director, I have had employees sign a form to r view or copy personnel files.
My suggestion is that I would talk to your legal council and get their advice. They might have to draft a policy so that it covers the employer and employee. Sorry that this is not a direct answer you might be looking for.
