What should be the biggest priorities for Supply Chain Managers in 2011?

As 2010 wound down, there was no doubt that the greening of the supply chain was an important variable in staying competitive in a variety of supply chain sub-areas (planning, logistics, warehousing, distribution and transportation) etc. Issues related to rising fuel costs, accounting for carbon footprint, corporate social responsibility, environmental issues related to conflict minerals, transparency and collaboration to drive S&OP efficiencies were notable drivers.

Not a week went by without a major retailer or manufacturer driving green supply chain requirements down their supply chain (often as deep as 4 tiers). IBM, P&G, WalMart, Kaiser Permenente, and Unilever immediately come to mind. A year end summary of key 2010 issues and a look thru the 2011 crystal ball is at:
