What should never be included in an email marketing campaign?
What are some things that you should never include in the copy of your email marketing campaigns? Or does anything go?

Lauren,
I think depending on your brand, pretty much anything goes in terms of the copy or layout etc..
However, there is one thing that should NEVER, EVER be included in your campaign: other recipients email address'.
Some may laugh....but I have seen some well known brands do this. Trust me...I have seen it.

Material that would be objectionable to the vast majority of your audience.
I disagree with Craig - mentioning a competitor is not a common approach, but depending on the context and how it is done, certainly not an absolute no-no.
Extraneous content that gets in the way of the goal of the email, especially if there is a critical, singular goal.

I agree with you Andrew. Receiving a message with so many recipients aside from you gives a negative feedback to the sender.

Only images. By default most email clients will not show images resulting in a next to empty email when sending nothing but images.
Always include a sensible ALT text and use as much text as possible.
