What should you do when people with blank Twitter profiles write negatively about you?

I have seen this happening more. Outside of Twitter spam which is still very annoying, what about profiles which are clearly shell profiles slandering someone or an organization? They can use hashtags to insert themselves into legitimate feeds.

Craig, my knee-jerk reaction is to simply ignore it. If someone cannot come forth with a complete profile and pic to support his/her Twitter handle, they're probably not someone you need to worry about.

I haven't seen this yet, but if I did see it, I'd probably immediately report them for spam on Twitter. I'm finding that Twitter seems to be removing the spammer accounts pretty promptly.

I haven't seen it happen, but I think I would just make a joke of it. I think bringing it in the open, revealing its anonymity, and making light of it would defuse it.

Ignore it and move forward. You do not live in a perfect world so everything does not have to go perfectly all the time. The truth is such negativity only attracts an audience which can ultimately work together for our good. Have you ever noticed when certain people in a crowd are yelling it often draws attention because people want to know what is going on but if such noise never existed they would not even notice the same people there. Negativity is an advantage if you perceive correctly, it is helping to reveal us to a greater audience than before because now everyone wants to know who they are talking about. God bless.
