Additional resources include: Vocus Social Media Monitoring, BurrellesLuce Engage 121, Sysomos and Alterian SM2 - all great platforms that aggregate and measure conversation volume and sentiment.

Viralheat is a great social media monitoring and analytics platform that allows you to take an in-depth look at relevant social media conversations. We also have features such as sentiment analysis to see what the general sentiment around your brand, products, competitors, etc. is, and our human intent beta that identifies customers at a decision-making point in their buying process. This allows your marketing or sales team to reach out directly and efficiently to potential customers.

I'm happy to answer any additional questions you have!

I am using Sysomos, Alterian SM2, Rowfeeder, Social Mention and first of all Google alerts.

I use www.RockMelt.com as my browser (it has sidebars with real-time network feeds).
For social-network monitoring I use www.hootsuite.com.
For click-through rates I use a combination of www.bitly.com and www.google.com/analytics, coupled in with Google Alerts.

Installing RockMelt now - great find, thanks!
For social media posting I simply use TweetDeck and of course analytics for any sort of CTR tracking!

I use HootSuite for "light" monitoring and all of my activity. I also use NutshellMail (http://nutshellmail.com) to catch any activity on my accounts, pages and for my specific keywords that I may have missed in HootSuite.

In addition to the list mentioned so far, Position2 Brand Monitor (http://brandmonitor.position2.com/) is the platform you should take a look at. Brand Monitor has been designed for enterprises and agencies, enabling them to:
• Monitor social media conversations and Track all engagement in a single system.
• Filter actionable, high priority conversations from the noise
• Get detailed analytics and in-depth reports on the entire process and lot more.

You could try out the Brand Monitor Basic Edition (Free) with no time constraint and then opt for an edition that suits your needs best.

Disclaimer: I work with Position2.
