What type of smartphone are you salespeople using to run your sales force automation applications?
As developers of a VERY LOW COST, but FULLY FUNCTIONAL alternative to Salesforce.com, (www.softwareonsailboats.com) we are really interested in smart/mobile phone usage out their in the sales environment. There are WAY TOO MANY completely different 'application environments' out there on the different mobile phones e.g. Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Palm etc., and we just want to know where to focus our development efforts next!

My experience tells me as a long term Sales professional that very few people are doing SFA on mobile devices. I've used em all.
Unless you take into account Synced up contacts from Outlook to Mobile without any further business data.
This area just hasn't got going yet but I'd suggest you focus on a generic client reachable from Opera mobile or IE mobile as the place to go wide and generic as possible and avoid getting stuck on any platform in particular.
