What up-and-coming business intelligence vendor has the most promise?

Disclosure, I am completely biased as the CEO of this company, but I feel really strongly that our approach to business intelligence and our execution in terms of customer service put us squarely in the "up and coming" and "most promise" categories related to BI. I encourage you to take a look at Yurbi, www.yurbi.com, to learn more, but as a snapshot, here are a few keys to why I think we are on the right path and the future direction of BI:

1. Platform - Yurbi is built from ground up as a seamless, 100% web-based, Business Intelligence 2.0 Platform that integrates dashboards, ad-hoc report building, self-service, security, ETL, application integration, and more. Being a platform means that we can add features easily (and we do very often) but it also greatly reduces the amount of server resources to operate and the amount of technical resources to manage. Our solution is an on-premise application (because that is where your data is) but the same platform can just as easily run via the "cloud" as it can in an organization's datacenter.

2. Universal Data Access - Regardless of whether data is in a database, a flat file, or accessible only via a web services API, Yurbi provides a single, intuitive method for accessing information via Yurbi Apps. We provide out of the box Yurbi Apps for many enterprise vendor apps such as HP, BMC, CA, Microsoft, etc, but more importantly we provide a drag and drop App creation process where clients can build their own Yurbi App for their datasources without requiring any programming, sql query writing, or database skills. If you can connect to the data, you can build a Yurbi App.

3. Security - In my opinion this is one of the keys that separate us from the pack. We have App Shield which allows you to build virtual data partitions/security policies on all Yurbi Apps. As an integrated part of the platform, App Shield allows you to provide stakeholders the ability to view or build their own reports and dashboards with the satisfaction that they can only access the specific information they should.

4. Ease of Use - A lot of BI tools claim it, but the adoption rates don't show it. We've built an interface that is inviting to business users and not threatening. Our solution mirrors many of the common things business users do in business apps like Microsoft Excel or websites like Amazon, Orbitz, Google, or even Facebook.

5. Business Model - Lastly, I think the way we engage with customers is equally as important as our technology. We invest a lot of time with our customers to ensure they are successful, but more importantly we have a pricing model which doesn't put all the risk of purchasing technology on our customers. We're a Term Based Subscription model, and clients can buy only the number of users and apps that they need.

Organizations can literally start with an investment of as little as $300 a month and then add users and apps as they need. We also have enterprise licenses for large organizations where the per user model doesn't work. In either scenario, it's a term license, so each quarter or year the company has the option to renew the subscription and are not locked into long term contracts with penalties. This ensures that we are on the hook to continue to deliver the best solution and service to earn our customer's business.
