That would really depend on a lot of factors like, what equipment is at the place of business? What applications are going to be converged with the agent (i.e are you tying it to a CRM?)? What type of reporting or supervisor visibility do you need? etc., etc.

If a company were starting from the ground up, I would recommend Avaya Aura and their One-X Agent application for a premise based system. Most Major call centers still run on Avaya. If Hosted Telecom is a consideration, then I would recommend a company called Telovations. They can provide custom call center apps on their hosted call center running over Broadsoft and Cisco.
