What will be the most important factors for business software (ERP, etc)?
This questions is more from an IT Strategy standpoint. I see the whole enterprise software (ERP) solution landscape starting to change. Companies are starting to ask for more, or the business leaders are unhappy with a lack of BUSINESS RESULTS and are starting to do their own business IT projects (bypassing the IT dept). In the next few years what do you see as the most important things to consider for business software and why?

I believe the one of the most important factors of ERP software, will be focused around software that is specialized by industry, but maintains a broad enough set of functionality that it doesn't constrain the purchaser. The other major factor is that is it should be engineered for speed. This will allow the business to quickly adapt and respond to changes in the business environment.
