What's a good email blast service?

I was advised by a friend to do email blasts for all my customers who have given me their email addresses. Is there a good email blast service that I could check out? Also, what is the professional term for "email blasts"? I need to do some more research on my own, but I'm just not sure where to start. I'm very new to this whole concept so any suggestions are welcome!

Constant Contact is my favorite, but Ace of Sales is coming up a close second.

While these are all good methods, I have reverted back to an old fashion method that makes us stand out from our competition. Using the latest technology, my customers get cards. Not eCards, but real paper greeting cards, in my handwriting, with a custom message, with what looks like a handwritten envelope and even a stamp instead of a postage meter. Sometimes I will even include a box of brownies with the card. I know this sounds old fashion but if I include a picture on the card from their website the card get's saved when the emails are deleted. I even get phone calls from my customers thanking me.

Having customers opt-in to an enewsletter is definitely a good starting point. This gives your organization a tangible asset (a qualified list) and a communication touch point with your clients.

If you keep enewsletter content rich and deliver it consistently (daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) the results will be better.

Two email services to look into: Constant Contact and Communigator.

i am using mail chimp. Mail chimp allows you an RSS feed to your blog. So, if you have a blog and want an email to go out automtically when you update your blog try mail chimp.

constant contact and many of the others don't do RSS feed.

I have tried Constant Contact and other similar services but have most of the popular ESP's to be too generic and basic. For ESP's, I prefer MailChimp for basic e-mail campaigns (comparable to Constant Contact) with many additional features and customization options. For a step up, consider InfusionSoft for even more functions and features. I like InfusionSoft for the automation tools they provide. Both are quality and cost-effective ESPs, just choose the appropriate fit for your campaign level.

Hello!!! Concept is correct!! E-mail marketing or e-mail merge is the way of the future. There are truly 7 touches to a customer and e-mail is just one of them. What I suggest to my reps and they all are using it is aceofsales.com this is a GREAT tool it does everything for you and is only 20 dollars a month. I hope this helps.

If you have Outlook, check to see if Mail Merge is loaded. It is free and fairly easy to use once you have it set up. Categorize your contacts for ease of use. Good luck.
