What's the number one thing that de-motivates you on a daily basis?

Here's the link to a poll I did earlier this year on LInkedIn: http://polls.linkedin.com/p/76467/vdenr You don't need to take the poll, just look at it and then come back here and tell me what takes you off your game.

Wow! "Feeling like you are under-valued" - 64%

My question is how many people stay in a situation like that? I think this is something that's always been the case, but now it seems like people are more willing to take a risk and leave if they are not happy, or being appreciated?

We've found that's it's really hard to find good people, so if the people you do have aren't happy, I would hope that companies realize that people might not stay, and if they are good, why should they?

Be a proton, that way you're always positive.

I would have to agree with Craig. I am not going to say I have never been de-motivated, but to let something get you down on a daily basis means you have to reevaluate your surroundings and your drive for success. As a youngster in the business world, I try to take everything as a learning experience. I might be young, but right now, the most important thing to me is the work experience that I'm getting in a start up environment. The other things will follow if I keep a positive attitude and drive for success.

Feeling under-valued is something that may become more and more acute as the economy continues to slog along. I always felt like if my boss and I had clear expectations of what was expected, we could get along. Even if you are doing a job "beneath you", as long as you know that going in, you can still wake up every day and go to work.

Leave it to Dan to add the term "a daily basis"...sounds depressing. I am not going to say I have never been de-motivated. I have but I will say, I always turned that around mentally to make myself better. (for another day). The big thing has to do with pride of ownership to me. Win or lose, I always wanted to whatever responsibilities that I was given to be "mine". Bad bosses can never understand that.
