What's the one question you should always ask when creating content?

When creating content, what's the one question that every marketer should ask themselves?

Will the content viewers find this compelling enough to share with their networks, and will those viewers find this compelling enough to share with theirs?

I will paraphrase a piece from memory by Velocity Partners in their Holy Trinity of B2B Marketing - they suggest your content must address 3 critical questions:
Who are you? (Earn my attention)
What's in it for me? (Give me a return on my attention)
Why should I believe you? (Make it credible, and worthy of deeper exploration)

Why should I care? (from the targeted persona's perspective)

Who is my ideal client? With that focus you can begin to understand what they need and how to get your point across to them in a way that resonates with them. If they feel you understand them and their situation, they are more likely to view you as the go to expert.

Does the content provide an answer that the audience is looking for? What is the need, and does the content fulfill it?

All you need to answer is: "What is in it for the reader?"

Lauren;

I think the first question you should ask when creating content is ... Will it capture the attention of those you want to get the attention of?

I think you want to focus on those who have Money, the Authority to spend it, and Influence - friends just like them (have Money, Authority, and Influence).

Then you want to make sure you are focused on those who recently experienced a Trigger Event and now want to change.

That event turns on http://SelectivePerception.com and now they'll notice your content.

Here is a blog post I wrote that provides more details.

Feel free to call my (+1.403.874.2998) or Skype me (Craig.Elias) if you have ANY questions.

Have a GREAT week!

Craig

THE question is: "What DIFFERENTIATES us?"

That's what the potential buyer wants to know — what makes you different than your competitors. (Yet that's what most marketing is missing!)

Someone asked me whether something the person wrote was alright for publishing on the blog. I mentioned that if the person has written it with interest, commitment, and positive mindset then it's worth publishing. (People could be doing something without interest in it and/or could be forcefully committed to something.) Best! Shakti Saran
