When do you start using structured cabling practices?

I’m in the IT department at a growing company. We’ve probably got about 65 employees in 2 locations, along with one inventory warehouse that also connects to our network. We seem to be growing steadily, and so I’m wondering when we should start thinking about overhauling our data center and implementing structured cabling techniques. Would it be useful to take some classes in this sort of thing?

The Data Center Seminar Series is delivered in cities across the US and Canada.

Or if you want something less formal, simply call one of our locations and ask to speak with one of our Systems Engineers. They are structured cabling experts and will happily help you draw up a system to meet your growing company's needs.

Good luck.

T. Boone Pickens said, "If you need a tree, the best time to plant one was 20 years ago. If you didn't do that, plant one today."

Start your structured wiring and data center organization program today. Bosses tend to balk at the time and money needed for such programs, but don't let that stop you. Even if you can't retrofit what you have, make sure that every wiring addition or modification going forward will fit into a structured wiring plan.

It appears that your network is suffering (?) from unstructured growth if I am right. It may be a better idea to set the network into a proper structured fashion first. Most cabling companies would be happy to assist you in the design of your network and the cabling
