Where is the best place to learn about changes in payroll laws?
I run a small corporate landscaping firm, and due to some unforseen circumstances, I now am in charge of our payroll processing. Where can I learn about the changes in payroll laws? Is there a website that tracks this sort of thing? What is the best way to make sure your company is current on that sort of thing?

I work for the Institute of Payroll Professionals (IPP) in the UK. We are a member organisation for individuals working in payroll that need to keep up to date on changes to legislation to make sure that they are processing payroll correctly. We also work closely with other Institutes in other countries, including the American Payroll Association (APA) and the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA).

there are a few resources available to you. the American Payroll Assoc.; CCH, your CPA or the best would be to use a payroll service. National providers, such as CompuPay keeps its clients up to date on all state and local laws as it pertains to payroll. the question I have for you is: why waste your time doing something you know nothing about? Hire an expert, it will cost less than you think.
Employment law is your answer. www.dol.gov is the best starting place. Most pay practices are governed by the fair labor standards act. I would suggest that you hire a hr consultant to do a pay practice audit and get a education.
