Where can I find some cheap B2B sales leads?
My bosses have ramped up our goals for next quarter and so we need to start padding our pipeline. Where can I find some cheap B2B sales leads for a software company?

Grrr. I am not comfortable with the "padding the pipeline" concept of sales management. I have seen this turn into a disaster at more than one company. You need sales not leads.
Follow the conversations online about so-called inbound marketing. HubSpot is the primary proponent of this technique, attend one of their free webinars. Start generating content that pulls customers your way. The easiest and least expensive sale is the one you get by answering the phone.
You need to answer this question first! How will you be contacting these leads? Cold Call, Direct Mail, Email and what is your message?
Have you used your library? Our library offers free access to Business Directories where you can search for businesss by type, size, geography. It is so easy.
In bound marketing is too reactionary. this guys boss ramped up his goals for next quarter how the heck is he going to get people to call him.
You need to know who your market is, and I assume you do, and then do what you do best.
Look for sales leads that perform and are effective, not cheap.
I would be weary with just going for the “cheap” approach when it comes to B2B lead generation. For some reason, many “B2B sales leads" generation efforts continue to involve intense e-mail blast campaigns, often supported with a link to a website, some sporadic trade show appearances, and ad-hoc telemarketing. The problem is that this rarely brings much value with B2B sales that tend to be more complex and timely.
The B2B sale is not about cheap lead generation. Instead, the B2B sale should focus on the needs and wants of your specific target audience. These needs are often long-term and require continued nurturing of the prospect.
Don’t get me wrong, I like many other marketers am repeatedly under pressure to generate more sales leads immediately. Alas, this urgent need too often is at the expense of quality. So, yes, you could try the cheapest B2B method of all, namely buying email lists and running email blast campaigns - and who of us has never really done this? – but it will result in a deluge of wasted email bounces and poor quality leads.
A better approach to B2B lead generation is to craft lead generation programs that will increase the chances of a better quality sales lead. For this it’s good to work with people who have real experience in doing this. For this we turn to many of our trusted sources. For example, we use consultants from WebleadsB2B to help us design landing pages that are aimed at our core market, and use their tools to capture as much details as possible about each visitor. Once we are satisfied they match the profile of our target audience, we nurture them (given their permission) with a series of informative emails. We even created a community website for them to pick up more ideas from us and the other customers we serve.
The bottom-line is that B2B lead generation still involves selling to people, not companies. The goal of well-developed B2B lead generation is to focus on developing relationships between people through dialogue – this involves a continued effort that can take months in B2B sales, and often continues after the first sale.
