Where is a good place to research web hosting server reviews?

I’m looking for a web hosting server to support my business. Where should I start looking?

There are a lot of hosting reviews out there. CNET has a decent grid for comparing and ranking some of their top providers (shared and dedicated). Of course with any of them, you have to be wary of bias towards certain sites. One thing you can do is pick a few companies that you like the combination of features, price and reviews and then do a search on that company. Check the results for good and bad things that involve the company (i.e. like outages, bad service, etc.). I'm not necessarily recommending them, but I chose Pair Networks to host a shared site about a year ago, and I've been very satisified with them.

Hi Eric,

Would you be able to share about the following regarding your dedicated server requirement:

i. Do you you have any specific platform/OS in mind?
ii. What kind of application / business need are you looking to satisfy?
Is it a corporate site, intranet, email server, ftp server, web sites for your customers/associates, e-commerce engine/site, sharing/forum or social media site?
iii. Would you care for managed support or would you use in-house expertise to manage the server at your end

The above may well define what kind of server or provider you may want to seek.

WebHostingTalk is one good forum you could check out for reviews and hoster feedback.

Hope this helps :) Cheers!
