You could also go to www.explorewebhosting.com and search through an extensive list of web hosting companies. If you're looking for the most bang for you buck, I would look at the shared hosting providers.

In terms of price, GoDaddy (www.godaddy.com) is quite low-priced.

The "Cheapest" web hosting may not be. What do you really need? Are you capable of designing and maintaining your site yourself or do you need to hire an expert to do this? For Bluehost, you'd better hire someone. GoDaddy has a reputation for dreadful support/customer service. Check out the cost of ongoing maintenance/changes, etc. before you choose the "cheap" web hosting service.

Putting up a wonderful website and then not doing any maintenance for a couple of years is perhaps worse than not having one. And if this is a new business, you need to be able to go in and make frequent incremental changes "on the fly."

You also need to be able to handle your SEO optimization, etc. yourself with no technical expertise--otherwise you'll end up paying someone to do this for you. This means that you need to be able to add the stuff to identify your site/pages to Google, Yahoo, etc. without having to pay someone else to do this...

Finally, I think that you need a web host that will allow you to "scale" your site as your business grows. In general, if you can buy what you need (and only what you need) on a "mix and match" basis, I think that is the way to go.

My choice: web.com. They aren't the "cheapest" but then you do get what you pay for and they are easy for the neophyte do-it-yourselfer to use, their customer service is excellent (and quick--no waiting 1/2 hour on hold), and are worth investigating.

One other comment: The "free" web sites that put you behind another domain are not businesslike and don't give you much credibility... It's sort of like using a "free" e-mail address. Cross those off the list.
