Who are the best SMB ERP vendors for paint and ink manufacturers?

Specifically, looking for software to support 3 small companies with total of 15 users: 1 retail and 2 ISO cert. manufacturers with specific formula managment and international shipping requirements. "ERP" meaning touching all functional areas of the company from CRM, quote-to-cash, quality testing, and batch manufacturing, to name a few. Found lots of industry specifc solutions, but only handle manufacture, not financials, CRM, etc.. Did I mention that there is a small budget?

We write software for this market segment and I can tell you in the $5-200million sales space the key competetors are as follows:

Vicinity Manufacturing with Microsoft Dynamics
Batchmaster Enterprise (not same as BatchmasterPFW)
Deacom
ProcessPro

Of course we think our is the best but all on this list are worthy of review and meet similar functionality requirements.

For us the core issue is the platform. We all do formulas, batchtickets, QC etc. But which platform gives you the BI, CRM, access to other apps etc.

H I'm surprised there is only one answer thus far. For process manufacturing environments, we consider the following vendors as viable options:

Sage Adonix X3
OpenPro
IBS Enterprise
CDC Software's Ross Enterprise
Exact Software
Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Oracle / JDEdwards EnterpriseOne

You can find a fairly thorough review of each vendor and their functional strengths in a matrix on our website. It is located at: http://panorama-consulting.com/resource-center/lists-erp-vendors/erp-software...

Good luck with your search.

Good afternoon H. Very timely question. This afternoon I provided a demonstration of the SAP Business One / Batchmaster combination to a prospect of mine. An referrence SMB account that already has these applications installed and operational actually provided the demonstration and discussion. The company is an ink manufacturer and they use B1 and BM to run their operations. It provides formulas, batch mfg, quality, costing, MSDS, shipping and all of the other quote-cash ERP functions required for an SMB. Of course, you may have business needs that are different, those we need to understand.

If you required more information I would be happy to share this with you. Please let me know how I can be of assistance.

Regards,
Neil Swanson

Great Question H.

Like I tell my prospects, it's like comparing cars almost. It's hard to give the perfect answer. People buy Fords, Dodges, Chevys, Toyotas, Nissans, BMWs, Volvos, Saabs, etc. It's difficult to say "who is the best" because people buy them all, technology is always changing, and each of them are surely fine reputable companies with a product they stand behind, etc. That said, to compare ~ one thing you can do is include a decent sized group in your initial search and then cut down to a few according to your specific vertical and then your unique business pains and requirements. Hopefully then you can be matched to 3-4 vendors and have some serious discussions between your internal experts and theirs.

As far as Process Manufacturing, it is all we do at ProcessPro ERP. Our typical customer is $10 to 200M in size, has specific requirements they need to meet, like FDA, HACCP, cGMP, ISO for example - and they want a direct relationship with the developer.

There are several good competitors in this market. If you are looking for a fully integrated real-time ERP process manufacturing solution for a targeted set of verticals, check us out at www.ProcessProERP.com

Best of Luck in your search.
