Michael, what do you mean by "experts" - analysts, techology consultants, both, etc.? Also, how do you define independent - e.g. not affiliated with any company or not affiliated with a vendor?
Elka, thanks for the response. By independent, I usually mean they are able to provide a somewhat objective or neutral view on the market or technology. These folks can either be employed at companies or they can be self-employed consultants, bloggers, journalists, etc.
I'm not independent but then who is?
I do however have extensive telephony experience; telco networks, enterprise networks, R&D, managed services and now my own business.
