Today, the skill set of "social media user" is practically a "given". Everyone I talk to in a professional setting is familiar with the tools and knows how to use them. In our climate, I would focus on a marketing professional who has an interest in social media, with the notion that he/she will be able to apply their marketing knowledge to social media.
