Who has had direct experience using LeadLander?
It appears to be a very effective web site tracking tool to provide prospect intelligence direct to the sales force. I would appreciate your comments on the following: How did sales find the intelligence provided? What other sales and marketing automation tools did you use together with LL? Ease of use and set up? Overall value in terms of enhancing the prospect intelligence gathering process? Thanks Henry

I used LeadLander on a corporate website for several months. I think the tool is great if you use it discretely and strategically
How did sales find the intelligence provided? They were mixed. Generally they found that they already knew the prospects or customers looking at the site. Also it is awkward to reveal that they knew someone from a company was looking at the site since most people still have the misconception they can browse the web anonymously
What other sales and marketing automation tools did you use together with LL?
SwiftPage.
Ease of use and set up? We had our web developer set it up. He said it was easy.
Overall value in terms of enhancing the prospect intelligence gathering process? I think it is great for getting a sense of how effective web marketing efforts were performing.
Greetings Henry,
I've had the opportunity to use several web-sleuthing tools, and LeadLander, much like the others, gets the job done, for the most part. It is most effective, if you leverage the tool in the middle of your sales process, not at the beginning. For instance, it's good to know that 'Company X' has visited your site, but it's even better to know that after you pitched someone at 'Company X', they wanted to learn more about your company. Depending on your budget, the combination of tools I typically use for web-sleuthing is: leadlander/kissmetrics/google analytics.
If you are looking at leadlander, you might want to consider VisualVisitor.com They are about 300% less expensive and the identification methodology is much more effective. You can find them at www.visualvisitor.com
Leadlander was one of the first players in looking up IP addresses to show you the company name. Since then there is a growing number of vendors doing this, including email packages and content management systems.
I worked on a project for a large US/international business where they used WebWho from www.webleadsb2b.com. It was not so different from the others - the main advantage I saw was that it had a stronger "global" focus providing extra add-on services (such as finding email lists for your business visitors) - all other US vendors did this only for the USA.
I agree with Robert that if you leverage the tool in the middle of your sales process, and not just at the beginning, these tools can be helpful.
