Couldn't agree more Leslie. The rush to execution may yield award winning marketing campaings that are simply off strategy, leaving the customer buffled as to why they didn't move the needle forward. best to spend some time thinking abou tthe plan and strategy ahead of time. Today's market is simply way too clouded and unforgiving to be taking shotgun shots in the dark...

My thoughts are that they either don't believe they have the time to create such plans or they don't feel that they are necessary. They may be lead into the false belief that because they have been successful they don't need to create a marketing strategy.
Additionally, the owner of these companies typically already have too much on their plate and so don't have the time for marketing. And due to budget constraints can't afford to hire one.
Big mistakes I believe. I think every company should realize the value added by having a solid marketing plan and executing it.
