Why is document management important?
What are some of the benefits that you have seen at your company after implementing a document management system? Have you and your employees been able to spend less time searching for documents and other items?

We had a scanning service come in, and we eliminated I'd say about eighty percent of our daily paper use (printing etc.) When it comes to accessing the files thanks to programs like Microsoft Sharepoint accessing files is almost easier than it was before. Another really great part about Sharepoint is being able to lock certain documents so that only certain personnel have access to them. http://documentsmanagementsystem.com/what-is-microsoft-sharepoint.html this was a really helpful resource when we were looking into DMS and paperless systems.
1. Does it cut costs? 2. Does it give me safe storage (physical as well as backups for digital)? 3. Does it give me quick retrieval? 4. Does it give access to the right people? 5. Does it give me peace of mind? Though I wonder why only corporations are considered when talking about going paperless when individuals use as much paper and are, if anything, less organized. We are trying to cover that gap. We haven't launched but you can track our activities here: http://on.fb.me/ShareYourPaperStory, http://www.facebook.com/kleetoindia and http://twitter.com/kleetoindia
