Wireless credit card processing for my small restaurant.
I own a small restaurant and I want to start doing wireless credit card processing. Where is a good resource for information, or who are some good vendors that offer this technology? Thanks.

Hi David,
Various merchant account companies can offer you wireless terminals. Basically it works off of a cell phone signal. Here is a website that covers review on companies that deal in merchant accounts and POS equipment.

We also work with a company called Tiger Capital Management, LLC which is a up and coming nationwide credit card processing company. We offer there services to our clients and are very happy.
If I can be of anymore assistance please let me know.
Best Regards,

Hi David,
A great resource for finding the best deal on credit card processing (and wireless terminals) is TransFS.com--the comparison shopping site for credit card processing. It works like Expedia does for travel...just enter some information and get bids form top-tier processors.
TransFS also has a free download for an iPhone app which allows you to use your iPhone as a credit card terminal...learn more here http://www.transfs.com/iphone or feel free to email me at stella@transfs.com
Hope that helps,

There are basically two different "machines" that can do what you want. The first are versions of the current processor terminals that we all know about - just up-engineered to be wireless. So far there seem to be several problems with these: they are expensive (costing generally upwards of $800 or more each); they are somewhat clumsy; and none of them are really trouble-free yet. It seems that the imps that are in charge of the wireless part do not always get along with the older, processor imps - or something like that).
One company, at least, has a system that builds onto/into an iphone which even includes a small, attached printer for receipts. Our experience, much to our surprise, indicates that this is more reliable, lighter in weight, and quite a bit less expensive.
The whole industry is transforming now though with Iphones and IPads being able to create a mobile virtual terminal that allow for payment processing on the fly. The speeds are not ideal, but they already have iPhone with cc swipes in the apple stores.

They have some customer reviews of some new techs that might really help you.
You can also process through other "smart" phones as well - it just matters if that is really the correct solution for you. The first question should be - what do you plan to gain by offering wireless at your restaurant?
Innerfence has an app that allows credit card processing on a variety of platforms ipad, iphone, Mac, Android, Windows phone. For the Apple products they also offer swiping dock for the iphone and itouch, and for the Mac and ipad offer a USB swiping attachment. http://www.businesscreditcardprocessingonline.com/online-card-processing.html is a great resource to get multiple quotes from. You're going to have to negotiate with an agent to establish monthly statement fees, gateway fees, and percentage fees per transaction. Having multiple quotes will increase your chances of getting lower fees.
