I would like to get a Web site up and running in no time. What web hosting solution would you recommend?

We are a fast-growing company and have no time to lose. What kind of web hosting company should we use and why?

There are literally thousands of web hosting providers that can get your site up and running in no time. However, you need to ask yourself about your needs:

1. Do you simply want a site with your basic information displayed?
2. Are you using the site to sell products?
3. Are you expecting large traffic volume or spikes?
4. Do you have your own hardware?
5. What's your budget?

Depending on your specific needs you'll need to choose between the following hosting solutions:

Shared - Cheap, easy and fast but with limitations.

Dedicated - Increase in cost but a more stable environment. Depending on your IT presence, you'll need to choose between managed or unmanaged.

Co-location - If you own your own server, this could be the best solution.

Cloud Computing - For a new business, this may be the place to start. It allows you to get a site up on-demand. It also gives you scalability, both up and down, depending on your specific situation.

All I can offer is the one we use - rackspace.com. We looked at lots and chose on the basis of they let us concentrate on our software and they did the rest for a fairly reasonable fee. You get an enormous amount of traffic bandwidth allowance, and people around the clock who will administer everything except your actual words on your web page itself - the best effort support has been good for us.

It really all depends on your hosting needs as Chris explained. One thing you need to keep in mind is future growth and will the company that is handling your service be able to grow with your needs is the BIG question you need to ask yourself when looking for providers. Also never be afraid to ask providers questions and if you don't like the answer they provide there is always plenty more out there to chose from.
