@Subhash - Yes, it should in two ways:
1. I think they can become a real player - not becoming #1 overnight if at all, but by becoming something all serious paid search marketers need to consider. They will immediately have ~ 25-30% of the market. Plus not too many people have made money betting against Microsoft (Yahoo's old boss Yang is a different story).
2. Competition always drives innovation. This should push Google even harder. They've always been innovative in terms of search, but perhaps this will lead them to look at other areas of their operation, such as customer service?
