Supply relationship management or B2B document trading software can help provide your company with the focus it requires to efficiently manage your supply chain. Removing the tasks for your employees like faxing, changing and calling suppliers/customers about orders for instance allows the employee to focus on how the supply chain is working from a strategic standpoint.

IT can be a very effective partner to provide the automation and integration required to support a highly efficient Supply Chain operation. The key to succes here is to define a vision for the destination, or end-state you wish to achieve and then develop a strategy, or roadmap, to deliver the vision. The vision and strategy must take into account the current state to identify the roadmap to meet the vision. Unfortunately there are no 'cookie cutter' strategies that can be utilized in this effort. Each organization will require a different vision and is starting from a different point. So this effort must be undertaken and customized for the specific requirements of the organization and business.
Once the strategy is developed you can start the process to deliver the vision. The strategy must be a 'living' overview and roadmap that is regularly evaluated to ensure that it continues to meet the business objectives and drivers.
