What new capabilities do people need now in cloud computing?

In addition to Mat's point (very prudent btw) we need some capability around extending legacy systems to the cloud - similar to what CloudSwitch & AppZero do. It's a big problem in terms of cloud adoption while we are stuck using yesterdays applications & systems. more

What's your experience with building "composite" applications for the cloud? Is it cost effective?
