Is it still too early to define PaaS standards?

Standards are always good and the earlier they are developed the better in my past experiences. You need standard APIs for developers and the like. Without them their is proprietary chaos. more

Why is there no standard set of management APIs for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS?

There is no current standard for managing IaaS, PaaS and SaaS already, because there is not yet a standard way of delivering these complex services. This is still a relatively young market, and the challenges to be addressed are nontrivial. It has taken a while ... more
