For me personally it was more about meeting some colleagues and vendors at the business showcase. In my opinion, from an informational perspective there was not so much 'shocking' news, But that all depends on what information you are looking for at such an event. more

They need to diversify sources of revenue. Too much is still coming from the hypervisor and that is not a long term sustainable play. Acquisitions play to expanding their product offerings and allowing them to hopefully diversify. Now it is about execution. :) more

Their marketing says, "Hey, don't worry... Things won't change for most people."
The number say, "Ouch... It's going to cost us a premium to move up to vSphere 5.0"
